COURSE STRUCTURE
Course Overview
The Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy for Sports is aimed at those learners currently working in the sports and active leisure sector. The purpose of the Level 3 Diploma in Massage Therapy for Sports is to provide learners with the knowledge of anatomy and physiology for sports massage, provide an understanding of sports massage techniques, and demonstrate professional practice. The content of this qualification is comprised of all the required elements needed to work effectively and efficiently as a sports massage therapist. This includes anatomy and physiology, professional practice, an understanding of the principles of health and fitness and how to provide sports massage treatments. The level 3 sports massage therapist will be able to work safely and effectively on dysfunctional tissue in a range of context, to include, pre-event, post event, intra-event and for maintenance purposes
In order to achieve the Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage, learners must complete the below mandatory units: - Anatomy and Physiology for Sports Massage - Principles of Health and Fitness - Understand the principles of soft tissue dysfunction - Professional practice in sports massage - Sports massage treatments These units will be assessed through a range of methods, including a workbook, external multiple choice exam and practical assessment

Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications: - Level 4 Certificate in Exercise for Managing Lower Back Pain - Level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy
Learners who complete this qualification will be able to gain employment and obtain insurance to work as a sports massage therapist in a number of settings such as: - A clinic environment - Self Employed - Within a sports club
part time
The part time version of the course requires you to study theory aspects of the course from home, using our dedicated student platform. You will attend a minimum of 2 workshops, held on a weekend, where you will learn the practical element of the course. You will also be required to attend an assessment day where you will be assessed in delivering sports massage treatments.

MENTORED
With the mentored version of the course, you are allocated a tutor/mentor who will guide you through the course from start to finish. Contact days are delivered on a 1-2-1 basis and will be taken at one of our many dedicated centres These days, including the exams and final assessment are arranged between you and the tutor and could be completed at your own facility
