LEVEL 3 EXERCISE REFERRAL

COURSE STRUCTURE

In order to achieve the Level 3 Diploma in Exercise Referral, learners must complete the below 6 mandatory units: - Anatomy and Physiology for Exercise and Health - Applying the Principles of Nutrition to a Physical Activity Programme - Understanding medical conditions - Professional practice for referral instructors - Planning exercise referral programmes with patients - Instructing exercise referral programmes These units will be assessed through a range of methods, including a portfolio (workbook), external multiple choice exam and practical assessment.

Course Overview

Regulated by OFQUAL and approved by CIMSPA, the purpose of the Level 3 Diploma in Exercise Referral is to provide the learner with the knowledge and understanding of applying the principles of anatomy and physiology, medical conditions, professional practice and nutrition. Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to plan and instruct suitable programmes’ for exercise referral patients.

PROGRESSION ROUTES

This qualification provides progression onto: Level 4 Certificate In Physical Activity and Lifestyle Strategies for Managing Low Back Pain. Level 4 Certificate In Physical Activity and Weight Management for Obese and Diabetic Clients.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Upon completion of this qualification, learners could find employment as an exercise referral instructor. This could be through a scheme, with the NHS or other healthcare providers or self-employed

The online version of the course requires you to study all aspects of the course from home, using our dedicated student platform. You will be required to either attend an assessment day where you will be assessed instructing an exercise referral session or submit your assessment via video.
