You will attend 4 consecutive full weekends where you will learn the practical element of the course. MENTORED

With the mentored version of the course, you are allocated a tutor/mentor who will guide you through the course on a 1-2-1 basis from start to finish. Contact days can be taken at one of our many dedicated centres or your own fitness centre and these, including assessment days are arranged between you and the tutor.

Course Overview:

Regulated by OFQUAL and approved by CIMSPA and REPs, The aim of the Level 3 Diploma in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training is to provide learners with the skills and knowledge to enable them to plan, deliver and evaluate safe and effective fitness instruction and personal training sessions.

The Level 3 Diploma in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training is worth over 30 CIMPSA CPD points

Course Structure:

To achieve the Level 3 Diploma in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training, learners must achieve the below mandatory units:

  • Anatomy and Physiology for Exercise and Health

  • Health, Safety and Welfare in a Fitness Environment

  • Principles of Exercise, Fitness and Health

  • Know How to Support Clients Who Take Part in Exercise and Physical Activity

  • Applying the Principles of Nutrition to a Physical Activity Programme

  • Programming Personal Training with Clients

  • Delivering Personal Training

These units will be assessed through a range of methods, including a portfolio (workbook), online multiple choice exam and practical assessment.

Entry Requirements:

There is also an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication at level 2.

Employment Opportunities:

On achievement of the Level 3 Diploma in Fitness Instructing and Personal Training, learners could look to move into becoming an employed or self-employed personal trainer, advanced Instructor or a club/centre supervisor.
